Wednesday Hobby Night and Thursday Legion Night in the Gaming Community
With no release news to watch, this hobby night was spent by a few of the gaming community painting miniatures for various games; BattleTech, Star Wars Legion, and Warhammer Age of Sigmar. There was a slight sense of urgency, as Legion was played the following night, and the BattleTech demo was to be saturday, but that did not stop us from cracking jokes, testing out new paints, and enjoying each others company.
The Highlight of Legion night was a classic story straight from the Clone Wars: Anakin Skywalker v. Asajj Ventress. Their dual was a vicious 2 rounds, and in the end they took each other out simultaneously. The Clone army continued to hammer back the droids, and were able to claim the victory, but the cinematic feel of the duel is what grabbed the attention of our gaming community.
Battletech Demo Day and we listened to the gaming community - welcome X-Wing!
The gaming community got participated in a demo day that was a lot of fun, as our experts Nick and Xander showed how simple and fun a game BattleTech can be. After all, who doesn't love fighting with giant mechs? Highlights from the learning games include one mech beating another with a blasted off arm like a club, and two mechs simultaneously taking each other out (one by getting their cockpit vaporized, the other by having a full ammo drum exploding). With how easy it is to paint these models up, I expect to see a lot more BattleTech in the future.
By popular gaming community demand, we our launching another game night! Starting this Friday, and on every other Friday, we will be playing Star Wars X-Wing in the shop. This fast-paced game of dogfighting in the Star Wars Universe has been a sleeper hit with some of our community, and we look to bring players together to test their piloting skills and have a good time. Join us from 6pm-9pm this Friday.
